What is Trinidad Doing Through its Agenda Items on Water and a Data Center?

adminJune 25, 2026June 25, 2026

One commenter to a FWT Facebook posted noted that the City is not advancing a data center project. That may very well be the case — and if so, the public deserves clear documentation confirming it. There has been Planning and Zoning and City Council agenda items about the matter, but no minutes describe the outcomes.

Therefore, to help bring clarity, Fair Water Texas has submitted a Texas Public Information Act request for the following records:

• Report from Water Plant Operator Jeremy Crocker referenced in the April 21, 2026 City Council meeting minutes

• Report from Water Plant Operator Jeremy Crocker referenced in the March 17, 2026 City Council meeting minutes

• Report from Water Plant Operator Jeremy Crocker referenced in the June 18, 2026 City Council meeting agenda

• Any documents presented to the Council/Mayor from the Trinidad Water Department for the February 12, 2026 meeting (Agenda Item 5: “Discuss and Consider Water and Sewer Rates”)

• Any documents or reports related to the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting on February 9, 2026, Agenda Item 8 (“Discuss and vote on New Action or Ordinance Regarding Data Centers”)

• Any documents or reports related to the June 18, 2026 City Council meeting, Agenda Item 17 (“Discuss, consider, and take action on Ordinance 06‑2026 for Data Center”)

Our goal is simple: get the facts, share them publicly, and ensure residents have the full picture — whether the data center is moving forward, stalled, or not being pursued at all.

We’ll post updates as soon as the City responds to the PIA request.
