Mission of Fair Water Texas

Our mission is to empower ratepayers and intervenors with the tools, knowledge, and media presence needed to advocate for fair water rate increases that balance affordability with the responsibilities of a corporate community member.

Our efforts recognizes that water companies are businesses that must respond to changing business and economic conditions in order to survive financially. However, we also recognize that investor-owned water utilities are monopolies in the regions they serve, therefore competitive forces do not balance their profit-seeking through customer choice.

We at Fair Water Texas do not want to pay exorbitant rates that pad a company’s bottomline, but we also do not want water companies to skimp on the investments they need to maintain and improve infrastructure that serve customers.

Therefore Fair Water Texas serves as the voice of the people in monitoring water companies while also assisting communities in the long processes at the Public Utility Commission of Texas.
