PUC Form to Intervene or Protest
Download the Intervenor/Protestor Form here. Instructions on the form show you how to file the document.

Aqua has already increased our rates by 40* in the last year. I’m not sure how much more we can pay for water. Has much has the PUC allowed the increase to be? I’m sure our water meets minimum requirements but it’s not anything special.
I strongly oppose the proposed water rate increase. This reflects a serious lack of oversight by the PUC in allowing these repeated hikes. My monthly bill averages $200, which is absurd given the size of my household. On top of that, the quality of the water provided by Aqua is unacceptable; it contains a high level of sediments and has a strong chlorine odor. The PUC should stop unchecked rate increases and hold Aqua accountable for the poor quality of the water being delivered to consumers. It’s unfair, excessive, and unsustainable for ratepayers to shoulder rising costs while receiving substandard service.
My uncle lives in Kona, Hawaii and pays $34.00 a month for water. My cousin lives in Salidas, California (just outside of LA) where they get a $300.00 fine if they water there yard to much and she still only pays $34.00 a month WTF is Aqua doing to the water that makes it so special!!!
They are straight up robbing us.
Our water bill already runs $600 – $800 a month and we are watering bare minimum just enough to keep the HOA off our backs about our yard and the plants alive in our flower beds that is a requirement by our HOA. There is no way we can afford it to go up any more. Not to mention my mother in-law lives in the same neighborhood and on a fixed income there is no way she can keep up with this either. We are now looking to sale our homes and move and hope like HELL this does not affect the sale of the homes. We can’t take anymore of this abuse from Aqua!
We just moved to our new home in Magnolia (Lakes at Black Oaks) and getting hit with exorbitant rate increase was definitely a terrible way to get introduced to Aqua Texas. It is ridiculous that our rates will yet increase again unless PUC stops this nonsense – we should not have to pay for improvements made in other regions of TX, especially when we do not use as much water as west, or central TX. Cost of living is already way too high to be dealing with even higher water bill – and its not like we can choose providers. Something has to be done!!!!
