Fair Water Texas is a ratepayer-driven initiative dedicated to helping Texans navigate the complex regulatory landscape for Water in Texas, primarily at the Public Utility Commission (PUC) but also the Texas Legislature.
Our mission is to empower communities across Texas with the tools, knowledge, and strategic support needed to achieve fair, sustainable rates for right-sized water systems, systems that reflect the true scale and needs of the people they serve with safe and adequate water supplies. That’s where Fair Water Texas steps in. We help ratepayers:
- Understand the PUC process and their rights
- Organize effective protests and interventions
- Advocate for rates that reflect actual system needs—not inflated projections or punitive rollbacks
- Support volunteer-led utilities in maintaining service without financial collapse
We believe that communities should be served by water companies that are transparent and financially responsive to the ratepayers they serve.
